One of the most memorable aspects of my time in Piteå are the long walks that I took everyday to get to the Musikhögskolan, pick up groceries and visit friends. This melody reflects this walking rhythm and the melancholy feeling of walking alone on a cold day, but also the fun of discovering new places and seeing old places with a different perspective.

Footprints in Snow was written in late 2011 and recorded in June 2012 with Anders Åstrand on marimba and Evaristo Aguilar on percussion at Capitol Theatre in Stockholm.
